For the second year running, Oadby and Wigston Lions Club joined forces with Leicester’s Bardi Wind Orchestra to hold a successful joint charity concert at the De Montfort Hall, raising money for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution. At the end of August, members of Oadby and Wigston Lions Club met with Bardi Wind Orchestra’s Music Director David Calow and Orchestra Manager Robert Calow to present RNLI’s Community Manager Emma Cunnington with a cheque for over £2,000.
The 2024 concert was one of several events held nationally to mark the 200th anniversary of the RNLI.
