In September, the 13th Annual Tonbridge Half Marathon, 10k, and 5k Races saw a record turnout of nearly 1,500 entrants. Established in 2011 as a joint initiative by the Tonbridge Lions Club and the Tonbridge Rotary Club, races are now managed by a national running events company, but the event continues to support local charities and good causes, with proceeds distributed by the Lions and Rotary. Both Clubs also continue to provide essential support on the day, setting up the start/finish line and Race Village, and marshalling the course.

Tonbridge’s own Olympic legend Dame Kelly Holmes was also on hand this year to start each race and present the medals, creating an inspiring atmosphere for runners and spectators alike.
