Windermere and Ambleside Lions Club has raised almost £15,000 after three months of successful fundraising during the summer. In June, the club organised and hosted its annual Classic Car Show in Staveley which, this year, raised funds for Carer Support South Lakes. This was followed by two months of fundraising weekends at Lake Windermere with what the club calls its “world famous” bouncy castle! These events naturally involve endless management planning and in-depth risk assessments, so their success is a testament to the Lions’ hard work.
The Club was also honoured to say hello to two visiting Lions from India: past President Lion Sheetal Deshmukh and her husband Zone Chairman Sudhir Deshmukh, both from Lions Club of Bhiwandi District 3231A2. (Although Sheetal and Sudhir both declined an offer to have a go on the bouncy castle, their grandchildren took full advantage!)
